88Memorial Service Program Ideas
Memorial Service Programs are printed documents that are handed out at funeral and memorial services. Similar to funeral programs, memorial service programs can come in a wide range of sizes, styles, colors and themes. They can be as lengthy as a an 8 page booklet, or can be a small bifold funeral card. These programs help capture and celebrate the life of your deceased loved one.
Here are a few ideas for to help you select or create the perfect memorial service program.
1. Use a funeral or memorial program template to help you create your program. These templates come in a variety of colors, styles and themes. A template can help you decide on a layout. Your layout should be based on how much information you plan to include in your program. If you don't want to include a lot of information, consider a "card" size bifold layout. If you plan to include a lot of information, choose a legal-paper sized trifold, or an 8 1/2" X 11" bifold layout with multiple pages.
2. Decide whether you will be creating your funeral or memorial program yourself, or if you will go to a graphic artist or printer. There are several resources that will provide this service. If you are using a funeral home to take care of your arrangements, they may offer funeral printing services. Regardless of whether you create the program yourself, or have a professional company do it for you, you will have to provide all information included in the program. You will also want to give suggestions about color, theme and design elements.
3. Consider using photos to help personalize your program. Use current and older pictures of the deceased. Add family photos and photos of significant events such as graduation, weddings and military service.
4. Include favorite poems, songs and scriptures of the deceased.
5. Add personal notes in your program to help communicate special memories of your loved ones.
6. Add an obituary or written tribute to your memorial service program.
With a little effort and creativity, you can create the perfect program that will serve as a keepsake for years to come.
